O’Connor Named Chief Engineer for New Embassy Suites Hotel Downtown

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. January 7, 2019–Suburban Inns has hired Michael O’Connor to be the Chief Engineer of the Embassy Suites by Hilton at 710 Monroe in downtown Grand Rapids. In the role he will be responsible for all mechanical and maintenance aspects of the property.

O’Connor has a degree in facility management from Ferris State University and completed the Hilton Worldwide Executive Engineering Management Program. He previously worked as assistant director of engineering at a Hilton resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

“I am pleased to welcome Michael O’Connor back to Michigan to join the ‘Inn Crowd’ as we say,” said Brian Behler, general manager of the Embassy Suites downtown. “We are committed to find the best of the best and Michael brings to our company the detailed mechanical and engineering knowledge focused on the hospitality industry.” The Embassy Suites, the newest hotel owned and operated locally by Suburban Inns, is expected to open later this spring. With the hiring of O’Connor Behler says they have filled 80 percent of the management positions for the hotel.
