Suburban Inns Co-Sponsors HR Conference Specifically for Hospitality Industry.
Event to be November 7-8 at Embassy Suites Downtown Grand Rapids.
Suburban Inns and the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association (MRLA) are co-sponsoring a human resources conference dedicated specifically to the hospitality industry.
The event is called the Unconventional HR Convention, or UnConHR2019. It will be held November 7 and 8 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in downtown Grand Rapids, the newest hotel owned and operated by Suburban Inns.
“We’ve all attended all the HR conferences with the cookie-cutter content and boring industry buzzwords that don’t translate to our workflow,” said Jessica Babcock, Vice President of Human Resources for Suburban Inns. “So, we got to thinking, maybe there should be an event that actually speaks to what we’re doing.”
Speakers will be experts from Michigan hotels and restaurants or other professionals who specialize in hospitality. Sessions include marijuana in the workplace, payroll in hotels and restaurants, attorneys who target restaurants, service animals on business property and more.
Babcock said UnConHR2019 is intended to be the inaugural event of what she hopes will be an annual conference.
More information about the conference and registration is online at www.UnConHR.com
